LED Lease for the retail sector
Lighting is crucial in attracting and ‘wooing’ retail customers. The use of led
lamps in retail is challenging due to high CRI (color rendering) and CCT (Color
Temperature) requirements, and a need for specific beam angles or light patterns.
Especially in food retail where energy usage is a factor 4 to 5 higher than non-food,
led also represents a huge savings opportunity. High lux (lumen of light per m2)
requirements often result in a substantial generation of heat that requires cooling.
Efficient led generates minimal heat and thus serves a ‘doubled edged sword’.
We work with high-quality suppliers specialized in combining white, amber and red
led chips to emphasize particular colours , e.g. red for meat sections in food retail.
LED Lease addresses colour consistency and minimization of colour shift through
optimal ‘binning’ of led chips. We successfully use led technology in 3-phase rail
systems and our suppliers implemented large led projects at Schiphol Airport, various
supermarket chains, and a large variety of non-food retail stores.
